Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 July 2026

Draft. This is a plain-language starting point, not legal advice. It should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer (and the [bracketed] details filled in) before it’s relied upon.

1. Who we are

Trivia Quest (“we,” “us”) is a cooperative trivia party game operated by Happy Hobbies LLC. By using the game at [triviaquest.io] (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

2. The Service

Trivia Quest hosts a trivia game on one screen while players join from their phones. A host can play free preset categories or, when signed in and holding credits, generate a custom AI-themed dungeon. The Service is provided on an “as is” basis and may change or be discontinued at any time.

3. Accounts and eligibility

Players join anonymously and don’t need an account. Hosting is also available anonymously; you only sign in (with an email and a one-time code) if you want to buy or spend credits. You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure.

The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the Service only with a parent or guardian’s involvement.

4. Credits and payments

Custom AI dungeons cost credits; preset categories are always free. Credits are a consumable digital good sold in packs, purchased through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown before purchase and are charged by Stripe; we don’t receive or store your full card details.

One credit is reserved when you start a custom AI game. If generation falls back to the free tier (for example, a provider outage), that credit is returned to your balance. Except where required by law, purchased credits are non-refundable and have no cash value. We may change pricing or the contents of packs prospectively.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to submit, generate, or attempt to generate content that:

  • sexually exploits or endangers minors, or is otherwise illegal;
  • is pornographic, hateful, harassing, or promotes violence or self-harm;
  • targets, defames, or violates the privacy of a real person;
  • infringes anyone’s intellectual property or other rights; or
  • attempts to break, overload, scrape, or abuse the Service or its providers.

Custom themes are screened and may be rejected automatically. You are responsible for the themes and feedback you submit. We may suspend access or remove content that violates these Terms.

6. Your content

“Your content” means the themes and feedback you submit. You keep any rights you have in it, and you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, process, and transmit it to operate and improve the Service — including sending a custom theme to our AI providers to generate the game. Don’t submit content you don’t have the right to share.

7. AI-generated content

Custom dungeons — questions, boss concepts, and art — are produced by third-party AI models from the theme you provide. Generated bosses, names, and artwork are intended as original interpretations of a theme, not reproductions of any existing character, logo, brand, or person. AI output can be inaccurate or unexpected; it is provided without warranty, and you shouldn’t rely on it as factual. See our Credits & Attribution page for the data sources behind the game.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its game design, code, and original artwork, is owned by us or our licensors. Trivia content is used under the licenses of its sources (see Credits). We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for playing the game; all other rights are reserved.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will be accurate. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or US$50. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (content licenses, IP, disclaimers, liability) survive termination.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and continued use means you accept them. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Questions or reports: contact@happy-hobbies.biz, or use the in-app feedback button.
